How it works

1. Bring coins or a card; older machines often take cash only.
2. You usually get four automatic flashes with a few seconds between them. There is no retake, which is part of the charm.
3. The strip is developed with real chemicals inside the machine: wait a few minutes and don’t touch it while it dries.
4. Machines sometimes run out of paper or chemicals. If one is out of order, the operator usually has another nearby.
