What the deployment demands
Removing the booking step is a commercial choice, and it pushes every requirement onto the hardware. Customers arrive on impulse, so the machine has to be obvious enough to use with no staff explaining it and reliable enough to keep trading when nobody is watching. Dalbam has also shown how studios stay alive in this category: adding a second shooting angle gave existing customers a reason to return to a studio they had already visited.
